Our Commitment
Committing to sustainability transcends from the very top of organization into one of main business focusses for the future of the Group and the industry. Using the UN Sustainability goals to address continuous environmental improvement and partnerships in community means that we are committed, in every step of our processes, to a cleaner future. For Cavagna Group, considering the Energy Transition is no longer a choice, it is a priority.
Energy Transition
Cavagna Group has been a leading partner for gas molecules delivery
for decades and it has constantly pursued technological innovation to best serve customers and markets’ evolution. At the same time, Cavagna Group has decided to further actively contribute to supporting and – somehow –
be part of the game in respect of renewable gaseous energies.
The Cavagna Group believes in the strategic importance of molecules and gas in the ecological transition.
The Cavagna Group is committed to the energy transition in multiple fields in which molecules and gases are key to supporting and promoting manageable, relevant and competitive development. The Group has always viewed its work as serving people’s well-being and the environment through its high-quality products and technological innovation, which now includes several digital solutions.
MIDSTREAM
Processing
Cavagna Group – on top of its mid and downstream positioning – has integrated into its portfolio also REPCO, that – from being an Oil&Gas EPC has evolved into a full scale engineering company dealing also with low cabon and green gas molecules. The logic behind this end-to-end integration is to create a unique platform to link upstream and downstream players with a tailored made approach, which is particularly crucial when talking about the development of green(er) molecules and how to integrate them with existing products.

DOWNSTREAM
Control & Metering
For 75 years, the Cavagna Group has been a global leader providing advanced, integrated solutions for the control and metering of compressed and liquid gases. Today the Cavagna Group’s proactive participation in the transformations currently underway, opens to new innovative solutions for greener gases.

What renewable gases are we dealing with?
Hydrogen
Hydrogen is the simplest and smallest element in the periodic table and the most abundant chemical substance in the universe.
Biomethane
Biomethane is produced starting from hydrogen and carbon dioxide and can be used as a fuel in vehicles and in typical gas appliances to provide heat and power.
BioLPG
Chemically identical to conventional LPG, BioLPG is a drop-in solution which can be produced from sustainable feedstocks such as plant and animal waste materials, vegetable oils, and biogas, and can be used in existing LPG infrastructure and appliances.
rDME
Has similar properties to LPG and can be produced from a wide range of renewable feedstocks – including municipal waste, and biogas. It can be used as a pure renewable fuel or blended with conventional LPG.
Hydrogen by REPCo
Power-to-x refers to a range of techniques and pathways for converting, storing, and using renewable electricity. Power-to-x is specifically applicable when there is an excess of renewable electricity generated from solar or wind resources. The “x” can refer to various types of energy carriers or uses.
Power-to-hydrogen is the generation of hydrogen using renewable electricity.
Cavagna Group is able to provide, through its unit REPCo, the design and engineering skills to build a production unit of Hydrogen. Starting from the customer’s requirements, the Group provides customised plants and solutions.
With the cooperation of other partner, REPCo is now capable of offering to its Clients the complete hydrogen production chain starting from green power.
Biomethane by REPCo
Electrolysis is the general process to produce green hydrogen from water and renewable electricity.
The green hydrogen produced can, together with carbon dioxide, be used for various e-fuel production processes such as biomethane. This e-fuel can then be sent to users, who want to replace fossil fuels with greener options. Through the same alliance with other partner, REPCo has the skills to implement bio-methanation units to produce bio-methane just starting from the H2 produced in the upstream section and CO2 stream made available by the Client and the outputis limited by the size of the battery.
BioLPG by Cavagna Group
Bio LPG is an energy source which can be produced from sustainable feedstocks (such as plant and animal waste materials, vegetable oils, converted into biogas and then into BioLPG), and can be used in existing LPG infrastructure and appliances.
Cavagna Group has joined forces with a number of renowned worldwide LPG industry players to support the research and development carried out by GTI ENERGY, developing the new COOL LPG technology, which converts BIOGAS to BioLPG . A completely sustainable molecule that will enable a perfect compatibility with existing infrastructure, thus fully ensuring safety, efficiency, reliability and accessibility requirements.
Cavagna Group’s contribution to this partnership can also leverage on the expertise of its subsidiary Repco in the area of Industrial Technology and EPF (Engineering Procurement and Fabrication) of Process Plant.
Cavagna Group is strongly believing that partnering with research institutions, industrial and commercial players ensures an organic basis for the energy transition process and is fully committed to pursue innovation to combine economic affordability and environmental sustainability.
