A special workshop has been set up at Cemco Kosangas.
At the Cavagna Group’s subsidiary in Chile, where company cars can be converted to run on LPG, has been set up a workshop.
From project to reality: the Cavagna Group in Chile is now converting vehicles to run on LPG. Cavagna’s Chilean subsidiary Cemco Kosangas is leading the way—no surprise, given that it has always been a dynamic company open to innovative ideas that strengthen Cavagna’s identity and position on the market.
The idea first took shape in the first half of 2018, and now it is being implemented: in a nutshell, Cemco Kosangas now has a workshop on its premises that features the most advanced equipment available to convert engines to LPG.
Specifically, the equipment includes: an overhead crane to lift vehicles, the best technical instruments to convert engines to LPG, and a video monitoring system that allows the Bigas office in Florence to connect remotely and see the work being carried out in real time. This system provides a high-definition, step-by-step view of the work carried out on each vehicle – in this way, Bigas technicians can see how each component is positioned, and provide support to Chilean technicians when needed.
It’s worth bearing in mind that Chilean law currently permits only the conversion of company cars – or in any case, vehicles that are not privately owned – and only conversion to LPG.
Cemco is currently in touch with a gas company in Chile regarding the conversion of an initial fleet of 30 vehicles, and the conversion kits have already been ordered directly from Bigas.
There is significant potential in the Chilean market when it comes to converting gasoline engines to LPG. To that end, a specific project in the pipeline – and it should be ready to go as early as 2019.
